| | How confident are you in the comprehensivity of google results as a reflection of the totality of the internet? | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| Well, I checked the math on the third query and it seemed okay. So the other two are probably just as good.

| From this we can deduce one of two things:
1) 21.1% of internet users also use livejournal.
2) 21.1% of internet users hate their lives.
I suspect the latter explanation is the better one. | | (Reply) (Thread) |

|
| okay, actually I can make some real statistics here:
Results 1 - 100 of about 1,920,000 from livejournal.com for . (0.33 seconds)
LJ: 3 460 / 1 920 000 = 0.18%
I will define .18 as livejournal's whininess index.
DiaryLand scores: 0.59 (once I stopped spelling it Dairyland)
Blogspot: 0.17
Xanga: 1.11
So it seems that Xanga is not only the smallest blog you referred to but also the whiniest! Not being big into blogs, I haven't really ever perused many of these, but now I know to avoid Xanga and DiaryLand. DeviantArt, not really being a blog at all, is unsuprisingly unwhiney. TypePad is incredibly unwhiney statistically, for reasons unknown.
Any posts calling in to question my mathematical turgor rigor will be summarily deleted. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| Woo, elowel has none, at either domain...

| | that's not so surprising when you realize google only indexes 30 pages there. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

|
| - multiple instances of said phrase in a single journal. Just a small group of people posting the phrase for every entry everyday alone would fuck it up. - not to mention the same people crossposting things to communities - there are many pages that are not indexed by google by request of the user

| | So if I somehow addressed those problems, my math would somehow become useful? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| What if the same person posts in multiple journals, under different personalities?? (ie one has a happy journal, a sad journal, a lusty journal, a public face journal, &c).
